Liu Zihan, PhD Student at Nanjing University in China, started his stay at the Urban Climate Group on 1st December. He will stay in Bochum for six months. His research focuses on thermal remote sensing and surface urban heat islands as well as land surface reconstruction.
His main research experience included
Proposing a hybrid and flexible framework for modelling the annual dynamics of satellite derived land surface temperatures by considering prediction accuracy and generalization ability
Investigation of urban warming trend in global cities
Taxonomy of intra-annual and diurnal surface urban heat island dynamics
Monitoring of spatiotemporal patterns of urban heat island in China during COVID-19 lockdown.
