Welcome, Mariola Grzybowska-Brzezińska!

The Urban and Regional Economics team at the Institute of Geography welcomes Prof. Mariola Grzybowska-Brzezińska for a short visit of three weeks. Prof. Grzybowska-Brzezińska received her doctoral degree in economics in 2001 at the Faculty of Management of the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn, Poland, and her habilitation degree in 2014 at the Faculty of Commodity Sciences of the Poznań University of Economics. In 2002-2019, she was employed as an assistant professor in the Department of Market Analysis and Marketing, currently in the Department of Market and Consumption. In her scientific work, she deals with issues of consumer behaviour and various aspects of food market functioning.

Prof. Grzybowska-Brzezińska is the author or co-author of over 130 original scientific publications. She has completed several internships and scientific stays at universities in Germany, Spain, Slovakia and Ukraine, among others. She has participated in a number of programmes financed by national and international agencies as a lecturer, consultant and scientific supervisor. Prof. Grzybowska-Brzezińska served as manager of postgraduate studies for Quality Managers, and as manager of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economics which she currently heads as Dean. During her visit at RUB, she will joint her UWM colleague Prof. Dominika Kuberska to lead the case discussions on Singapore and New York City in the graduate course Microeconomics of Competititiveness (MOC) developed by Prof. Michael E. Porter at Harvard Business School. Both professors are members of the MOC Affiliate Faculty Network spanning 120 universities world-wide.
