Part II of the IFHV Lunch Lecture Series on ‚Anticipating Climate Change and Disaster Displacement‘EVENT DESCRIPTION The availability of reliable data is an important pre-requisite for the development of effective political and humanitarian responses to the challenges associated with climate-induced displacement. However, to date, the question remains highly contested whether it is already possible to adequately climate-induced migratory movements This lecture will discuss the available data basis for the prediction of future displacement triggered by factors that are related to climate change. The discussion will take into account long-term trends as well as short-term prediction models. A special emphasis will be placed on the value of these models for (anticipatory) humanitarian action. The event is hosted by IFHV’s research cluster on violent disruptions and forced migration and will be moderated by Katrin Radtke and Daniel Weller, Research Associates at the IFHV.
