Two new special journal issues on "Remote Sensing of Clouds and Aerosols" have appeared in recent weeks. These collections resulted from our sessions on the same topic at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assemblies 2010 and 2011, and were edited by the session convenors Gerrit de Leeuw, Alexander Kokhanovsky and Jan Cermak. The articles contained in the collections highlight recent findings across these fields.
