Over 70 scientists work in the fields of physical geography, human geography, geomatics and didactics of geography. Our research ranges from 3D visualisations to satellite climatology and the polarisation of social inequalities in cities to teaching-learning research for school lessons, to name just a few points. The education of the approx. 1400 enrolled students is professionally field-oriented using state-of-the-art laboratory and information technology. A special feature is the integrative research and teaching focus 'Transformation of metropolitan spaces'.
