The aim of this EU-project is the development of climate resilient adaptation strategies, knowledge-based tools and strategies as well as services for eight metropolitan areas within Europe through the linkage and collaboration of different stakeholders and science communities with the help of e.g. Living Labs, nature-based solutions and modelling.
The EU-project CARMINE, conducted by 32 project partners overall addresses the sustainable development of metropolitan areas in Europe. With focus on eight project areas, climate resilient and socioeconomic risks will be analysed and subsequently sustainable solutions for the adaptation to climate change (EU Charter 2030) will be developed. Following an interdisciplinary approach, CARMINE has several objectives:
- Creation and development of decision-support services and guidelines for climate resilient and adaptation strategies, e.g. early warning and risk management
- Close cooperation with local stakeholders and communities for cross-sectoral frameworks for climate mitigation and climate protection goals.
- Providing of science-based action plans, roadmaps and innovations to support local adaptation strategies.
