IMECOGIP at the 8th Ecoserv conference in Poznan

Can cultural Ecosystem services be integrated in EnhancES?

IMECOGIP was represented at the 8th ECOSERV Conference (September 18-20, 2025) in Poznan, Poland 🇵🇱 (https://ecoservpol.amu.edu.pl/ecoserv-2025/) by Prof. Harald Zepp. The symposium, which is held every two years, was founded by geographers at Adam Mickiewicz University to promote and provide scientific support for the practical application of the concept of ecosystem services. This year's event was entitled “Ecosystem Services in Transdisciplinary Approach.” The speakers came from disciplines such as geography, biology, economics, law, and sociology. In eight sessions, scientists from 14 nations presented their research results. Examples came from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Czechia, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Tajikistan, and Chile.

Harald Zepp (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany) chaired the session “Cultural Ecosystem Services across landscapes and scales” and presented the results at the closing session. His own contribution dealt with the integration of cultural ecosystem services in EnhancES, IMECOGIP's main application-oriented product.🌿 📚 https://ecoservpol.amu.edu.pl/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/The_Book_of_Abstracts.pdf

Due to the packed conference program, there was only time in the evening to take a look at the Renaissance-style town hall in Poznan, built in the 16th century.🏛️
