IdeenExpo is the largest youth event for science and technology in Europe and takes place every two years in Hanover. The GI was there as part of ESERO Germany!

A total of 430,000 people visited the trade fair, many of whom were inspired by the workshops and exciting exhibits at our stand. For young and old alike, we offered astronaut training to balance out the other activities at the trade fair. Through our diverse ESERO Germany consortium, the stand covered topics relating to physics, astronomy, space travel and, of course, earth observation. There were not only exhibits to look at, but also hands-on stations and events. Highlights included a model of Ariane 6, a cloud chamber for detecting cosmic radiation, an interactive Lego model of the ALMA radio telescope, a selfie photo astronaut and an experiment on the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability.

A special highlight was the presentation by ESA reserve astronaut, pilot and space engineer Nicola Winter on Monday. She gave fascinating insights into the training of astronauts and answered many interesting questions.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand and IdeenExpo GmbH for the excellent organisation of the event. A big thank you also goes to everyone who contributed to the success of our stand!
