Climate [Change]

As part of the 2nd Bochum Climate Conference, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Bechtel will take part in a panel discussion at the Bochum Schauspielhaus on Friday, November 18th, 2022. The event "Now! A weekend for the climate" took place on the occasion of the 27th UN climate conference in Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) and discussed the topics of sustainability and climate change.

In addition to Prof. Dr. Benjamin Bechtel took

  • Prof. Dr. Mi-Yong Becker (Vice President for Sustainability, Transfer & Entrepreneurship at Bochum University),
  • Rebecca Freitag (former UN youth delegate for sustainable development, sustainability expert and political entrepreneur),
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Grinewitschus (Professor for technical building equipment at the Ruhr West University & Professor for energy issues in the real estate industry at the EBZ Business School in Bochum),
  • Mohammad Nor Suliman (BUNDjugend NRW and trainer for political education with a focus on anti-discrimination and climate) and
  • Julia Tiganj (Research Associate for Reactivation & Transition and China Competence at the Post-Mining Research Center at the Georg Agricola University of Technology).

A total of nine Bochum cultural and educational institutions have formed a network to promote climate protection in our city, to exchange ideas, share knowledge and hold joint events against climate change.
