IAUC webinar talk on Challenges of global SUHI analysis by Benjamin Bechtel

10. September 2021

Benjamin Bechtel today gave a talk on “Challenges of global SUHI analysis” in the new webinar series of the International Association for Urban Climate. The second speaker of the session was James Voogt from the University of Western Ontario, presenting on “(In)complete urban surface temperatures”. James Voogt is the author of the famous paper on “Thermal remote sensing of urban climates”, which was also the name of the session. More than 170 researchers from all over the globe participated in the session, which was completed by a lively discussion. Benjamin Bechtel is already the second speaker from the RUB urban climatology team to present in the webinar in only five editions. In May, Matthias Demuzere presented in the fourth webinar on Local Climate Zones (LCZ) together with Iain Stewart, the main inventor of the LCZ scheme.
