From June 21 to July 4, Dr. Emmanuel Hanyabui from the University of Cape Coast was a guest at the Department of Geography, where he worked with Prof. Christopher Kyba. He was one of 37 prospective postdocs who spent two weeks in the Ruhr region this summer to get to know the Ruhr University Alliance as part of the “Research Explorer Ruhr” program, which was organized by the UA Ruhr Research Academy.
During his time at Ruhr University Bochum, Emmanuel Hanyabui met with professors and researchers from six research groups at the Institute of Geography. Through these discussions, he gained insights into the Institute’s diverse activities and areas of expertise, and based on these experiences he will soon submit an application for a Humboldt Research Fellowship.
His visit made it clear that many of our research areas are thematically linked through the night, and we hope to welcome him back in 2027 as a Humboldt Fellow.
