ACCOMPANYING RESEARCH ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SERVICE-LEARNING IN HIGHER EDUCATION HAS STARTED

The accompanying research on the effectiveness of service-Learning in higher education in Europe to summarize the effects, benefits and impacts of S-L in higher education with the aim to develop a set of indicators for all stakeholders (students, faculty, community and academic institutions) has started in November. Janine Bittner, staff member of the working group „mobility and demographic change,"Department of Geography and Janina Kempchen, student assistant are involved. The European Observatory is a networking space to share and disseminate information regarding the service-learning methodology in higher education across the 49 European countries.

MISSION:
The European Observatory aims to collect experiences and identify good practices for developing a well-structured and updated repository of service-learning in higher education across Europe.

VISION:
Within the next  three years the Observatory is recognised as the service-learning resource center of referene for researchers, teachers, students, higher education institutions, social entities and poliy makers.
