Four sessions with seven parts in two days:
The Ruhr metropolis
Urban development – global and regional perspectives
Structural change in the Ruhr
Brownfields in Germany and NRW
Tourism, culture and leisure: New industries in old buildings
30 hectares goal: Strategies, instruments, and results
Housing on brownfields & investors’ perspective
Two full-day field trips by bus: Bochum and the Ruhr Region
Half of the group are students from the U.S.
Assignments for German participants:
One meeting in advance
Preparation of the comments and preparation of a part of the field trips
Report incl. discussion results
